Understand BCBSMT's Different Plan Types
PPO
PPOs, or preferred provider organization plans, let you choose where you go for care without needing a referral. If you’re okay with paying more, you’re able to use providers outside your plan's network.
BCBSMT’s PPO plan, Blue Preferred PPO℠, is available all across Montana. Over 60 hospitals and 15,000 providers are in network, giving you more options for care throughout the state.
POS
POS, or point of service, plans have lower premiums than PPO plans and still provide flexibility when choosing care. With a POS, you’ll choose a primary care provider (PCP) but won’t need referrals for specialists.
BCBSMT’s POS plan, Blue Focus POS℠, provides coverage for 10 Montana counties. You’re able to visit out-of-network doctors but may have different benefits if you choose a provider not in-network.
